It's half term for many! So congrats for making it through. Here are a few lovely recent TTR shows to listen back to in your leisure time this week.
First up, the breakfast show on Monday 18th was Tabitha McIntosh talking "literary mean girls", but what is a mean girl? When did this particular language emerge? Is 'girl' bullying really any different from 'boy' bullying? Are literary mean girls actually misunderstood feminist icons? She debates all these questions and more! If you need cheering up on a rainy day, this is the show for you.....
Second up, very different but equally interesting, Libby Isaac talks all things coaching in education from the Late Show on Tuesday 19th. She discusses the research, the theory, the impact....
On Friday 22nd, Dorian Brown had a fascinating chat with edu-podcast extrordinaire Darren Leslie. Darren shares his journey with education podcasting and gives us all a peak behind the curtain into the world of podcasting. They then move on to unpack Allison & Tharby's framework of effective teaching from their book "Making Every Lesson Count' and Darren concisely articulates why challenge, explanation, modelling, questioning and feedback are the fundamental building blocks of staff development and hallmarks of quality teaching.....
Gemma Drinkall made her TTR debut this week and she asked "how will you switch off and enjoy your holiday? What if you feel that you are coming to the end of your teaching journey?"
Great discussions with the amazing Jane Bell, author of 'Time-Smart Teaching' and the terrific Ellie Baker, the Happy Free Teacher Coach. Listen here....
Finally, if you are interested in SEND teaching and learning, then make sure you check out Tom Rogers in conversation with Pete Wharmby this week, discussing all things autism and education.....
As always, a huge variety of shows on TTR and these were just some of them this last week!
